In iMessage I can’t even see my number I only see my Apple ID and when I try to activate it there is an error
Having the same problem on my end-- Have tried adding my phone number to my Apple ID as well in order to fix this, however I never receive a confirmation text that is required to validate the number.

Can you try reactivating again, some customers are saying in the community that it's now working.
